Our partnering organizations

Illinois Association of Park Districts
The IAPD has represented park districts, forest preserves, conservation, recreation, and special recreation agencies since 1928. The IAPD is a non-profit service, research, and education organization that serves park districts, forest preserves, conservation, recreation, and special recreation agencies. The association assists these agencies, their citizen board members, and professional staff in providing outstanding park and recreation opportunities and preserving natural resources to improve the quality of life for all people in Illinois.

Sagamore Publishing
The 35-year-plus history of Sagamore Publishing commenced in 1974, when Dr. Joseph J. Bannon, recipient of the 2001 National Pugsley Award, founded a consulting business known as Management Learning Laboratories (MLL). MLL was established to assist parks and recreation organizations in the planning and development of their leisure resources. One of MLL's early projects was the publication of the quarterly newsletter entitled Management Strategy, which was designed to provide parks and recreation administrators with practical management advice on issues such as personnel matters, legal liabilities, program evaluation, capital development, facility operations, and much more. Sagamore Publishing has added to the body of knowledge in the park and recreation field with over 100 books and hundreds of journal articles in its long history of serving the field.
